Texas Surety Federation Recognizes Senator Wentworth

The Texas Surety Federation recently recognized Senator Jeff Wentworth as their Legislator of the Year for his work on HB 2039 in the 79thTexas Legislative Session.  HB 2039 limits the use of sovereign immunity as a defense by local governmental entities arising from the sale of goods or services to the entity.  The bill went into effect on September 1, 2005.
